Khaled Hosseini

Khaled Hosseini is an Afghan-American author, physician, and activist, best known for his novels "The Kite Runner," "A Thousand Splendid Suns," and "And the Mountains Echoed." Born in Kabul, Afghanistan, Hosseini and his family fled the country during the Soviet invasion and eventually settled in the United States. Hosseini's novels are deeply influenced by his personal experiences and explore the themes of family, identity, and the impact of war and conflict on individuals and communities. He has received numerous awards and accolades for his work and is a goodwill envoy for the United Nations Refugee Agency. In addition to his writing, Hosseini is a philanthropist and founder of The Khaled Hosseini Foundation, which provides humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan.
